About Course

The Mechanical Engineering program equips students with practical and theoretical knowledge in machine design, manufacturing processes, thermodynamics, and maintenance technology. The course focuses on developing skills needed in modern industries, including energy production, automotive systems, and industrial automation. Students are trained to apply scientific and engineering principles to design, analyze, and maintain mechanical systems that solve real-world problems. Emphasis is placed on innovation, sustainability, and hands-on learning through workshops and industrial attachments. Upon successful completion, graduates are prepared for careers in: Manufacturing and production industries Maintenance and service engineering Automotive and transport sectors Energy and power systems Technical education and research fields This course aims to produce competent technicians and technologists who can contribute effectively to Kenya’s industrial growth and global competitiveness.

Requirements

  • KCSE Mean Grade: C– (minus) or equivalent.
  • Mandatory Subjects: Mathematics: D (plain) and above Physics/Physical Science: D (plain) and above English or Kiswahili: D (plain) and above
  • Alternative Entry: A relevant Artisan Certificate from a recognized institution. Recognized prior learning or work experience in a related technical field may also be considered..

  • Attachments: All students must complete an industrial attachment before graduation to gain hands-on experience.

  • Step 2 — Complete the Application Form Fill the online application form on our admissions portal or pick up a printed form from the admissions office. Provide accurate personal and academic details.
  • Step 3 — Prepare & Attach Documents Attach the following scanned copies / photocopies:National ID or birth certificate KCSE certificate / results slip or equivalent credentials Artisan certificate (if applying via alternative entry) Two recent passport-size photos Proof of payment of application fee (if applicable)
  • Step 4 — Pay Application / Admission Fees Pay the application fee (if required) via one of our accepted channels: bank deposit, Mpesa, or online payment gateway. Keep the payment receipt and include a copy with your application.
  • Step 5 — Submit Application Online: Upload scanned documents and submit the form on the admissions portal. In-person: Deliver the completed form and copies to the Admissions Office at our campus. Make sure the contact details you provide are current (phone & email).
  • Step 6 — Tracking & Interview After submission, you will receive a confirmation email/SMS with an application reference number. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview or placement assessment. Keep your reference number for follow-up. Step 7 — Offer & Registration Successful applicants will receive an admission offer letter with instructions on registration, payment of tuition fees, course start date, and orientation details. Fees and Funding

The Mechanical Engineering program offers quality technical education at an affordable cost to ensure accessibility for all learners. Tuition fees are structured by term and are payable in flexible installments to ease the financial burden on students and guardians. Tuition Fees Duration: 7 Terms Total Fee: From Ksh 105,000 (subject to slight variations based on level and practical requirements) Payment Mode: Fees can be paid per term or in installments directly to the college account or through approved payment channels such as Bank or M-Pesa Paybill. A detailed fee structure is provided in the admission letter upon successful enrollment. Additional Costs Students should budget for: Workshop and Practical Materials: Ksh 2,000 – 5,000 per term (approx.) Examination Fees (KNEC or TVET-CDACC): Based on current rates Industrial Attachment Expenses: Travel and subsistence allowance during industrial training Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Safety boots, overalls, goggles, and gloves Funding Opportunities The college provides access to several financial aid programs to support needy and deserving students: HELB Loans and Bursaries: Available to eligible trainees in TVET institutions Government of Kenya (GOK) Scholarships: Partial sponsorship for students under the national TVET funding program Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Bursaries: Students are encouraged to apply through their local CDF offices County Government Bursaries: Additional support from county education departments Private Sponsorships: Partnerships with industries and NGOs supporting engineering students Refund Policy Refunds are only applicable under special circumstances such as withdrawal before commencement of classes or course deferment.
